    Skin for Accu-chek combo

Hi This morning received in the post a black skin for my Accu chek pump. I have had my pump for about 5 weeks and love it. If there is one complaint it is that Roche send things to you (this was not ordered by me) with no instructions. It is a tight fitting rubbery type skin and has a strap...

    My invite to training conference.

I have been invited to a training day at our local hospital. It is a conference that will be attended by doctors, nurses, insulin pump reps and on the Friday they have asked people who actually use pumps to go along and ask/answer questions. As it will only be two weeks since starting a pump I...

    Anniversary...

I have been type 1 for 45 years this year....I remember all the mentioned items. My parents had a sheet of paper that stated 210grms carbs - 50 for breakfast, lunch, dinner and rest for snacks. But had no choice of if to eat or not - even if not hungry you were forced to eat. Then it was "old...

It went really well. Only me there, other people did not turn up (don't ask me why) Because I was only 18 months old when dianosed I don't remember the new first days but I can imagine feeling like this. Everything is going round my head but no doubt will get used to. The box alone would house a...

    big day tomorrow

Hi I have been a diabetic for 45 years. It has taken just 6 weeks from doc mentioning insulin pump to my big day tomorrow of getting it fitted. I am excited but nervous as injections have been a daily regime for nearly all my life. What can I expect tomorrow. does anyone remember their first...

    what about cups of tea?

I would ignore the amount of carbs in a cup of tea. In the DAFNE course (dose adjusting) I do not alter my insulin for anything below 15g carb. So a splash of milk would be fine. After all you would use that up in exercise walking to the kettle  Deb

Hi Donnamum This is my first posting. I have been a type 1 diabetic for 43 years. I also have epilepsy, had fits since starting with diabetes at 18 months old. I am sure you will see that your daughter gets regular updates on both medication but do not just stop any anticonvulsant drugs without...
