    You will be fine :) I test mine more often due to being more active and getting nervous when flying haha. I think you can take food in your suitcase, but you can buy it in the airport anyway. Also, I keep my glucose tablets with me on the plane just in case :)

    Diabetic eye test

    Basically, they will just put a drop in each eye to expand the pupils and take a photo of the back of your eyes to check everything's fine. That's what'll happen if it's the same one I have haha :)

    First time abroad with type1

    Hi, I am type 1 and have been abroad. I agree with DivaAlena1, the exercise- whether it's walking or swimming will lower blood sugars, as will the heat. It depends on how much insulin your daughter is on and how long you're going for. Try not to worry though, and good luck! :)

    Re: When will it come?? Hi there. I turned 17 last year in May and sent off for mine straight away. However, I was requested to have eyesight tests, and letters back and forth from my doctor to the DVLA, which resulted in me receiving my provisional in November. Took a while l know! Anyway...

    Teenage parties

    I'm 18 and have been to a few parties. My diabetes nurse has told me to balance drinking alcohol with a sugary drink, since alcohol lowers blood sugars, the sugary drink will increase them. I make sure I regularly test my blood sugars as well to see what's going on. Good luck with it :) my mom...

    3 week old Type 1

    Hi, I've been type 1 for 5 years and I felt I was alone too. I came across this forum on Facebook only a few weeks ago and wish I had been on here from the start. You're not alone though and there will always be someone there to help. Good luck! :)

    Pump or injections

    Speaking from experience, the pump is better for me. You could always try it and if doesn't work out, go back to the injections. Good luck! :)
