Type 1: Is It Ok To Eat Chinese

Indeed it is ok. Having been type 1 for more years that I care to remember, I had never had Mars Bars cheesecake or any "normal" food. I did the DAFNE course earlier this year and it was a revelation. I can eat ANYTHING. The trick is to look and see the total carb content and divide by 10 for...

Hi. I am a well controlled T1 but I know what it feels like to be unstable! I have been t1 for many years now and have done away with rapid insulin by being careful what I eat. My levels NEVER go above 8 and are 95% of...

what can i drink and eat

I like beer and whilst it does have sugar in it, raising your bg it also has alcohol which lowers it! Try an LCL type of beer and keep away from the really sweets ones. I just recently got back from holiday and found a pils type beer that had absolutely no effect up or down on my levels..heaven!

    My Insulin No Longer Works

Hi Generally metformin is for type 2. it does, however, work for type 1 (of which I am one) by increasing the bodies sensitivity to insulin so, in theory, you take less and it goes further (like putting red x in a car). It is of further benefit as one of its effects is to supress glucose...
