    Libre 2 & Finger Pricks

Overall it makes managing diabetes easier and I wouldn't want to be without it. However as others have commented the Libre isn't as helpful when BG levels are changing rapidly which is exactly when you need accurate results in order to determine any necessary action.

    Libre 2 & Finger Pricks

Can anyone point me to guidance, other than from the DVLA, about when you should check Libre results with a finger prick test. GP seems to think it should rarely be necessary but my experience is that Libre can be very different if BG is rising or falling quickly so I prefer to test before...

    How many Hypos?

Being honest 1 a week was just an example. It would be nice if I was achieving that number. In fact I vary between 2 in a month to 20 a month.

    How many Hypos?

I do have a CGM and know when I'm hypo and how to manage them. I assume that even well controlled Type 1s experience hypos (?) and I was trying to understand how many you would have to say "I'm having too many". For example do people feel 1 a week is "reasonable"?

    How many Hypos?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but how many Hypos do you consider too many. I don't mean severe ones as obviously one is too many. I mean those in the range of say 3mmol/L to 3.9mmol/L. My last HbA1c was 40 and I expect this will seen as too low at my next review Thanks

    LibreLink Android Update

Thanks for that as you suggest I'll wait 'till its back on the Play Store. I have to say Abbotts comms on this has been poor to say the least.

    LibreLink Android Update

Hi, Abbott's site says the new update for LibreLink is now available via the Play store but I can't find it. Does anyone know what version of Android is required? I'm on V8 so that might be the problem. I'd be interested to know if anyone has successfully downloaded the update. Any thoughts...

    Basal Adjustments

Thanks In Response, I normally bolus 10 to 15 minutes before eating but will vary it depending on my current BG result and Libre trend.

    Basal Adjustments

Thanks juicy, an hour is what I've always used but I read Pumping Insulin which admittedly was published in 2006 and that said at least 4 hours. Creating a back up basal profile is a great idea.

    Basal Adjustments

Hi, I'm testing my pumps basal rates and need to make some changes. The question is how long before the rise / fall in BG do I apply the change. The advice I've seen varies between 1 hour to 4 hours or longer. What lead time do you use? THANKS

Type 1 Miao Miao not connecting with Bluetooth

I am using a Samsung S7 and xdrip+ connects to the miaomiao2 but wont load any data. Like you I have tried various versions of Xdrip without success. I'm now trying Tomato which works up to a point but is creating several records for the same reading which I assume will affect the stats it...

    Ypsomed my life insulin pump

Thanks Steve. After looking at the ypsomed I was tending to the "better the devil you know" strategy and going for another insight.

    Ypsomed my life insulin pump

Hi Steve, I'm in exactly the same position as you were. Did you go with the Ypsomed Mylife? If not what put you off?

    Changing pumps

Hi Tilly, I have used both the Accu Chek Combo and the Insight. I'm due a new pump now and the Ypsomed My life has been mentioned. They all have pros and cons so I agree with Juicyj do some research and look for what's important for you.

    Libre Sensor Allergic Reaction

I will email Abbotts again because they must be able to state which batch or serial numbers identify the sensors with the revised formula.

    Libre Sensor Allergic Reaction

I had an email from Abbotts yesterday in which they confirmed they are changing the adhesive formula in April. I had also asked how I will be able to identify the new formulation sensors but they didn't deal with this so I'm no wiser.

Type 1 Allergic reaction to libre sensor

Hi, I'm also getting an allergic reaction to the sensors but thankfully not as bad as yours. I've emailed Abbott's to ask if it's true that they are changing the formulation of the adhesive in April - I've read somewhere that this is the case. I've also asked how I can ensure I get the "new"...

    Insight pump pairing problems

Thanks for that sninge. I was about to call them when I thought I'd have one last go and it worked. I have no idea what the problem was but at least it's working now. I have to say I'm not a fan of the Insight handset for a number of reasons.

    Insight pump pairing problems

Hi, My pump has stopped talking to the handset. I've tried to pair the devices several times including deleting the original paring, but no joy. The hand set searches for a few seconds and then says "No devices found". Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I'm missing here? Thanks.
