Cannulas for little body fat %

Hello, I've had my pump (Roche insight) for nearly two months now and use the flex link plus Cannulas and the link assist plus to put them in. I do a lot of weight training and have not much body fat-I'm finding that every cannula is hurting, with some being really really painful when newly...

Tomorrow is the day .. (Roche Insight)

I got mine two weeks ago and so far I love it :) it's my first pump and the handset and pump is really easy to use! I love the flexibility of a pump and already my BG levels have improved massively. I have a really active job and exercise lots so the pump is beneficial for me. Good luck with yours!

What is considered low doses of insulin?

I am on very small doses due to high insulin sensitivity through my job being so active and exercising every day. I am on only 2 units basal and a maximum of 12-15 units bolus overall per day :) that's why the pump is so prefect for me and my diddy doses! :p

Anything to help for painless cannula sticker removal??

Hi all, I got my pump last Tuesday and have done two cannula changes so far and when I peel the sticker off it's agony! Ha ha if we could just rip it off in one quick movement then that would be great but cos we have to pull it out straight, peeling it off slowly proper hurts! I'm probably a...

injecting my bum cheek, just cant do it

I use my bum the most as that's the only part of my body that has fat, I am very lean and bruise/react super easily if I inject in my tummy, thighs or arms. I used to use a mirror but now I'm so used to it I just twist and inject. I used to have a huge phobia of needles too therefore I do it...

    Breakfast ideas?

I too have a very active job working as a gym instructor & sports therapist so like to pick slower releasing carb meals. Personally I don't eat standard cereals as I find a lot are high in salt and sugar and as I have a severe but allergy, I can't have muesli. My breakfasts normally consist of...

    Hypo awareness

I had the same problem and it had returned however it's intermittent. If I fall gradually, I can go in the 2's and not notice a thing but if I drop dramatically then I have symptoms. So I test very regularly and always before driving even if it's only a two min journey. I get my pump 10th march...

    Blood sugar and gym

Look at the website runsweet.com that's a great website for exercising and managing glucose levels. I'm afraid I can't offer any other advice as I don't suffer with that issue-mine rise as high as 12 after a heavy weight training session but that's it really! Good luck :)

    Outrage! DAFNE after 1 year

I was told the same-18months to 2 year wait. I managed to get on one within a few months of diagnosis but that was only because I told the hospital that my brother who is also type one had taught me to carb count right away therefore felt I was suitable to go on it early. I totally agree and...
