    newbie saying hi!

Hi, I was diagnosed in November and I do shift work (care assistant in nursing home). It is a nightmare for levels but what you basically need to do is plan your insulin depending on your shift. You'll probably end up with 4 or 5 different scenarios. What this could mean for you is adjusting...

    So, how much jelly?

This thread has got me in stitches. So now I'm the crazy lady laughing hysterically to herself whilst munching on, you guessed it, jelly!! Yumm Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

I find mashing it means that more of it can be covered in cream ... :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    So, how much jelly?

I usually end up with 4 small pots from one sachet of powder. I use these pots as they're easy to take to work. If I'm having cream then I just put it into a bowl and mash it up. I sometimes have double cream, sometimes whipped cream. I don't think it is possible to overeat jelly. Sometimes I...

Thanks patch and scandi. It's been a good day, actually went out for lunch (only second time since diagnosed) and levels have remained normal. Didn't do anything else as wasn't feeling up to it. On my lonesome now as my partner has left for the festival, so I've been potching about the house...

Yeah think I will set an alarm just in case. I've never even gone low in the night, I've just heard so many scary stories that it terrifies me. I usually go to bed way before my partner so sometimes I get him to wake me to test when he comes up. I'm just ridiculously anxious really. Good start...

Thankfully they appear to have settled, all fives and sixes today! Still feeling a bit rubbish with a sore throat and cough but it's getting better. Hope my levels stay settled as my partner is going away tomorrow until Monday and I'm really nervous of being on my iwn in the night in case I...

Thank you all. It always makes me feel better knowing I have everyone on here who gets it :) I have a ridiculously sore throat and am aching all over, head pounding etc so clearly have a cold. Perhaps that's what's brought on all the lows although I thought you go high when you're ill (I gotta...

Thanks. I seem to be having another day of it unfortunately. No actual hypos yet but teetering on the edges and finding it hard to stay above the 4s for very long. Hope you're feeling better soon too! :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Been on a 13 hours shift and my body has insisted on trying to see how many hypos it can fit in in 1 day! Woke up with a reading of 14 after my hypo right before bed last night so wasn't expecting it. Feeling absolutely exhausted from bouncing from low to high all day :( Sent from the...

    Hypo symptoms

I typically get shortness of breath followed by shaky legs and then extreme tiredness. Guess I now have more signs to look out for. Lucky I tested really because I wouldn't usually for these symptoms. Just ate a ridiculous amount of **** now though when I've been doing so well not over treating...

    Hypo symptoms

I always get the same hypo symptoms and generally at around the same number. Tonight I started feeling sick and my mouth went numb. Took my sugars and they were 4.2 which surprised me a lot. Faffed about for about 10 minutes and then felt dizzy and my face felt heavy so tested again and 3.6...

My legs. I can't do my stomach as it immediately gets a huge lump when I pull the needle out and then bruises pretty badly for about 2 weeks :( bit of a pain to use my legs when in work but can't be helped. Also rapidly running out of space on my legs as they're so bruised now Sent from the...

    Allowed late night snacks...

If I'm hungry quite late at night I usually have an egg, some cheese or some sliced meat. Not very exciting but keeps me going. If I just want to munch on something nice but am not particularly hungry I'll have a square of 70% chocolate :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
