    I reviewed my carbs and they were as low as they could reasonably go. But then, when I came off my bi-polar meds the weight started coming off again. Now I'm another 3kg lighter. Lost a total of 16lb altogether in 6 weeks.

    I make a broccoli and stilton soup . I put onion in it too and butter. I use an automatic soup maker. They are really quite delicious. My stews are quite bland, as I'm still learning. But I put casserole veg in there and onion with oxo cubes and mixed herbs.

    I think you're on to something there. As I've gone off meat just recently, and am intolerant to eggs, I've been eating copious amounts of veggies, mainly broccoli and carrots. Some days I am at a complete loss as to what to eat. Thanks for your help.

    When I started my low carb diet 10lbs of weight fell off me in 3 weeks and since then I've not lost an ounce. For another 3 weeks no weight has come off. I'm very disappointed because I'm hardly eating anything. I eat home made soup and vegetable stews. My carb intake is low but I don't know...

    Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

    When I was recently diagnosed with Type 2, I asked the nurse if I needed a monitor and she said it was not necessary! But I got one anyway and started testing.

    High Blood sugars are the culprit for many different illnesses... so by controlling your BG levels you will benefit in lots of ways... it could become a good thing. :)

    My former Doctor's SUrgery also used the telephone consultations. It was usually for things that are mostly straightforward.
