    Come off meds

I've come off my basal med, so only on bolus and what a difference it has made. I feel like a new person, weight dropping off, more energy, I can concentrate & have been able to start studying again, the very large elephant has fallen off my head where he has been sitting & putting on weight for...

    Sweating

Changed to Insuman but only tried it for a week, the side effects again were too much, it was like carrying an enormously large elephant on my head all the time - very painful & draining. Not taking any bolus at moment seeing my consultant in two weeks. How are you managing? Sent from the...

    Insulin Allergy

That's brilliant, thank you. I've been on Insuman for a week as the hospital said it's the only one they can prescribe as I have tried all the rest! (Levemir, Lantus & insulatard). Decided not to take it tonight to see if it is what is making me feel so terrible, sugars are fine at the moment...

    Artovastatin

Thank you, I thought it was a bit radical doubling up, 80mg is the max dose. I wasn't told to take it at night when I first started the astoravastatin & learnt the hard way. I've been on a low fat, low carb diet forever (it feels like), there isn't anything else I can cut down on or cut out...

Should I stick to my gut feeling if not increasing? It should read 'should I stick to my gut feeling of not increasing'? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Artovastatin

I'm on Artovastatin 40mg & my doctor is wanting me to double it to 80mg a day. My last cholesterol count was 5.1 & the doctor is now saying it needs to be under 4 whereas previously it was 5. I started on a lower dose but after bumping my car due to the side effects making me so spaced out, I...

    Insulin Allergy

Ps. The hospital are now saying I'm type 2, whereas the local doctor says I'm type 1.5 & the eye screening say I'm type 1, so now very confused as the treatment is different for each. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Insulin Allergy

My hospital not licensed for Tresiba, so I'm trying Insuman but back to feeling like 'wading through treacle', no energy, heavy head, lack of concentration etc. beginning to think it would be easier not to be on basal and just put up with testing during the night & having extra bolus if needed...

    Levemir...any good?

I had allergy/intolerence problems on levimere, lantus & insulatard, now on Insuman - only started last night but had incredible awful night sweats & am hoping that will settle down. I think we are all very individual & it all appears very hit & miss what works & what doesn't or what side...

    Basal allergies

I've been put on Insuman by the hospital & instructed to inject this basal into my stomach, as my legs appear to be hypo sensitive. I did this last night and have had serious night sweats, so uncomfortable. Is this normal for basal? As it was one of the problems/side effects I had previously...

    Insulin Allergy

Type 1.5, have tried victoza & byetta again they didn't agree with me, the side effects made me so ill. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Type 1 Does anyone else have a skin reaction by using deodorants?

I use a rock salt deodorant, you get it from health food shops & looks like a roll-on. You have to make it wet to use, but I find it works better than sprays & lasts longer. Just don't use after shaving. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Insulin Allergy

Thanks for all the comments, sounds like Tresiba might be the next one to try. Hopefully this one will be more suitable for me. A daft question now, does all basal injections have to be given in the leg/thigh area or are there alternative sites I could use? Thank you Sent from the Diabetes...

    Insulin Allergy

I have allergic reactions to my basal, it has been seriously effected my health. Two weeks ago I stopped taking Insultard due to the health issues, this is the third type that has not agreed with me. I'm waiting to see consultant next week. Just on novorapid at the moment and struggling to keep...
