A girl in my sons class ( he is a type 1 diabetic) has found she is type 1 diadetic. She is on 4 injection a day. She told my son that it may only be for 4 years then she may just need tablets instead. Could this be right what she told him. Thx in advance

As far as I am aware......Only with some huge advance in medicine.....although research has done good things and it keeps us positive. My dad told me 25 years ago, that there would be a cure one day. He used to research and cut out everything regarding the advances for us diabetics and pass on to me. Sadly my dad is no longer alive, but if he was, I am sure he would have signed me up to every research facility going, and he would certainly have been the best silver surfer for researching up and coming help in the future.
My friend last wek cut out an article in the mail regarding interesting diabetes medicine for the future. However, I forget things the minute I have read them, so can't remember the full details...only that I read it......it would be lovely wouldn't it to have just tablets.....I think there would be huge queues at the hospitals and GP's!!! Wonder how they would cope, especially if the tablets were very expensive??

I believe the immunosuppressants used to treat transplants are tablets? (I read about someone having to take loads of tablets after a transplant). So maybe that's what she is talking about.

Maybe the girl is actually type 2? Maybe someone told her she'd be on tablets in the near future the same way 20 years ago people were told there would be a cure in 20 years?
how lovely it would be to just take a tablet.............. 
i tend to worry myself sick about this whole diabetes rollercoaster, i read things i shouldnt and get really worked up about it. ive just seen a youtube clip of Halle Berry saying she was a type 1 diabetic but had "weaned" herself off insulin and now no longer needs it and likes to be called a type 2??????????? unbelievable!
