14-17 T1?

Hey everyone! I'm Catarina (Cat - I know it's sounds weird in English but I'm actually Portuguese - is my nickname) and I'm 16 I've been diagnosed only two months ago so I'm really new at this whole thing! Any of my friends are diabetics so I don't really have anyone to talk to and I thought it would be nice to talk to someone my age (or near) with diabetes

Hi Cat,

My advise to yourself would be to read up on diabetes. There is too much conflicting advise everywhere between specialists, patients etc. I strongly would suggest you start by going on Amazon.co.uk and purchasing a book called Dr. Bernstein Diabetes Solution, read the reviews, the book answers almost most questions that hoover around diabetes.

I will do that, thank you very much! I actually have one book caled "Type 1 Diabetes in children, teenagers and young adults" by Dr. Ragnar Hanas which has been helping me a lot, so that's some good advice!
