Hi I'm not sure if anyone can help or not. I'm a type one diabetic, for 13 year (in case that's relevant) I have a 16 month old daughter who is showing signs of diabetes such as smelling of ketones in the urine and breath, very skinny, drinking lots, guzzling it! The smell of ketones triggered me to check her blood sugars and blood ketones. Her bloods have been at 6.0 - 6.9 everytime I've checked. Her blood ketones on the other hand were at 0.3 on Wednesday and today at 0.4 which means they are going up. I'm really worried and not sure if it is the onset of diabetes considering blood sugars aren't really high enough to suggest it. I will take her to the drs. I'm worried they might do the same to her as they did to me. It took ages for me to be diagnosed with diabetes I don't want her to be palmed away. Is it possible it is in fact diabetes? Also she was 2 month premature does this add to her chances of diabetes as well as me being type 1 diabetic too?
