Back on the diet. Nobrainer. What do you folks think
Well, getting back on the diet would help get you back towards the normal range... And trying to get some stress-relief. And proper sleep, because it sounds like you've been missing out on a decent night's worth for a while now too. It's up to you, really... Are you in a place where you can get back into the diet and stick with it, or is it simply too much on top of everything else right now? In any case, you shouldn't hit the metformin too hard in one go, it's something you'd better build up over time if you're going that route, because gastric distress is no joke and more likely if you dive right in. Keep in mind that when bloodsugars are high, you end up in a not-too-good mental place as well, and probably have issues sleeping to boot. So if you can... I'd opt to at least look at diet as well.Hi Folks,
I need your advice here, I joined the forum in 2017 when I was first diagnosed, I took the medication 1 metformin per day then went Low Carb - High Fat and in Jan 2018 I went and collected my HBA1C it was reading 40, Shortly after this the doctor considered me 'cured' and refused to give me more metformin.
**** hit my private life on multiple fronts and the diet went out the window and I've since put on the 3st that I had lost. Im now 20 stone again.
Problem is during the last year my bloods rose with each visit to the nurse, 45, 48, 51, 55 and now 71. No one questioned weather I was on metformin since it was last stopped.
So today they give me the 71 result, I **** myself. The doctor told me to go on 2 metformin twice per day.
The problem I have is that they are doing this thinking metformin isnt working where as the reality is because they stopped it and only resumed it today.
What do you think I should to, I think I should go back on one twice per day for the 3 months and see what the reduction looks like as opposed to taking 4 per day.
My thinking is that they are only upping the dose thinking metformin isn't working on the lower amount when the reality is I havent been taking it because they stopped it ages ago. And also because my diet is **** at the moment and my weight is 3 st heavier Im ********.
What do you folks think, Are my fecked or can I bring this back to the 40's with weight loss / exercise and metformin.
