Snap! I clocked 27 years in February. Congratulations done one life sentence, I think I was given another back to back. Hope to live through another quarter century with this.

I seriously can't remember my life before I was 12 years old without injecting, carb counting, reading food labels constantly. My parents were a great help to me at that age, we all got thoroughly educated in the glycemic index of foods. Diabetic chocolate being the worst invention.

I don't think I've ever thought about if it gets easier as you go through life, i wouldn't say I find diabetes particularly hard - although not a walk in the park either - it just kinda is what it is for me, with begging diagnosed so young I never knew any different so I'm thankful for that.

The last 8 months have probably been the hardest as I'm 35w pregnant but that's only because I've had to constantly test and not been well -not diabetes related - so that's had an impact but just being 'diabetic and pregnant' I don't think is TOO bad considering the horror stories we get filled with :)

I'm sorry to hear that. At 54 years of age, to read you've had diabetes for 54 is pretty sobering. Please ask if there's anything this community can do by way of supporting, even if it's just a listening ear. Take care!

Ahh thats true! Ive been controlled for about 7/8 years now and getting on with what i want to do :) oh i totally get that i cant remember before hand.

Oh congratulations! How exciting. At least on that part it wasnt diabetes related - always a good sign but hope you feel better soon. I worked with a diabetes specialist as im a student nurse and went on maternity ward and as long as you look after yourself no horror stories
