I have discovered that ANY amount or type of rice is out for me.
And that i can have a slice of homemade wholemeal bread if it is combined with eggs or cheese or some other protein, but toast without enough protein eg butter and marmite, makes me spike.
its all a bit 'trial and error' so I am keeping a food diary of amounts, times, calories, carbs and combinations of food. Its time consuming, but I hope that soon I will see clear patterns and will know what to avoid and when. And then it will get easier
Despite what my family say, I am NOT OCD

None of you mention exercise. If after breakfast you go for a FAST 15 mins walk that should bring down your numbers.
Also as some of you have discovered what you put on your Burgen bread makes all the difference. Cheese being protein and fat is good as is peanut butter and humous. The only way you learn what your particular body can tolerate is by testing.
