2014/15 Football Season

I believe after my making a few good predictions last week, I believe that there will be some unusual results this week.

Hoping that we can actually win back to back games for the first time in absolute ages. Can't see it tho, Burton are going for promotion and are likely to hammer us.

Terrier are due a win John, as are saints, the gooners will bounce back. The hammers are finding the going tough and I can only see Leeds winning.

No doubt, I will be totally wrong!!!!!!

Burnley (H), Everton (A) and Hull (H) are the next three on our list. I'd like to see maximum or near maximum points from that lot, but who knows? In fact, we have a fairly easy run-in for the rest of the season with the exception of Spurs, who come to St Mary's at the end of April (Mr Pochettino should get a rousing reception ) and the last game of the season - Citeh at the Etihad .

All in all, I'm not giving up on a top 5 finish yet.

But you need to end well.
Everton will be a wounded animal after that defensive display last night. That was nearly as bad as Rovers performances this season!!

Yes. Erm, how can I put this? Ending well has not always been the Saints' forte - if I had a quid for every time they've thrown a match away in the last few minutes of extra time, I'd be in the Cayman Islands checking my trust fund.

However, the current team under Koemann* is a very different animal to other, recent manifestations of the Saints. You'd have to go back to the days of Gordon Strachan or even Big Lawrie to have a club that you can make valid comparisons with. These are uncharted waters for many Saints fans, though I still remember watching the '76 FA Cup final in the Telly Room at Uni.

I am keeping the faith - I expect them to beat Everton, and will be disappointed if they don't. As to how I will feel if they stumble against Burnley or Hull; well.....

*(OK I admit: and to some extent under Pochettino )
 
@nosher8355 you've forgotten the most important prediction. How far will I get up the 150+ steps at St James' Park before I have to stop for a rest?

One of our most famous games v Newcastle was in what as known as the JPT trophy now. (Zenith data as was!) We drew 7-7 and lost on pens. 6-5 if my memory serves me right. Phew, and no scoreboard!
 




Yeah we need to whack Fulham tomorrow and with any luck Wigan will win and get nearer to escaping so Fulham go down.

The last time I went to 'the contact's we nearly got washed away into the that there Thames! Wot a dump! And we won. Terrier are gonna get you!!!

Well what a disaster.We had 2 penalties and Wells the useless idiot couldnt even score from em.Fulham down to 10 men and managed to grab a 2nd goal in stoppage time.We are frigging useless. Wigan grabbed a late equaliser and closed the gap to just 9 points between them and us.

Leeds couldnt even beat the ****** Blackpool
In the South Yorkshire derby Rotherham and Sheff weds are drawing after Rotherham took the lead.

Oh dear Rotherham have just lost.

Oh well its Englands turn next week our lot can take a few lessons on how to win a match so when we come back in to action 2 weeks we can hopefully rattle Sheff weds in the big Yorkshire derby. Come on town get yer bleeding arses in gear
 
Well, Burnley have been packed off two-nil but Fraser Forster was taken off after 15 minutes with suspected ligament damage - don't like the sound of that

Nice to see Kelvin Davies back in goal, mind you - he was our salvation in some of the darker times, though he's not quite up to FF's standard.

Bring back Antti Niemi, that's what I say!
