2017/2018 Football Season

Good luck with all that. I hope you come back up this time. Friendly games will be starting for us soon as well.

Our friendly games kick off on 12th July at Accrington then away to Bury and away to Barnsley. Then 2 foreign games on foreign turf Stuttgart and Torino FC then we fly back and kick off the new season the following weekend. We've also got a Loan Goalie in the shape of Jonas Lossl. on a season long loan spell. Hopefully he will prove his worth and Wagner (assuming he's still with us at the end of the season) may want to sign him permanent. As long as we avoid the drop zone then it doesn't really matter where we finish. Can improve on that the following season. UTT

Hey @johnboy412000 nice signing for the terrier getting Ince.
Watched him play for our under eights at Rovers before moving to Liverpoo.
Been at our training ground lately to see our gaffer.

Hey @Cumberland did George Waring play for the cumbrians last season on loan, cos, we have signed him. Is Mike Jones still there?

@zand Wenger spending? What's that all about?

Bluenoses are buying a new team around here!!!!!

Lots of ins and outs regarding playing staff, difficult to keep tabs on all the goings on!
B
Soon at the footie again!

Woo hoo!

Wow I wasn't aware we got Ince. Been out of touch this last few days lol. I'll check that one out sometime thanks

Sorry @jay hay-char
I would have mentioned saints, but it's a revolving door down on the coast!

You wouldn't want to be guessing at what is happening.

Do you think you can have a good season?

Don't know, is the honest answer. We've sold Jay Rodriguez to West Brom, which I think is a pity but I can understand why - he's spent most of the last couple of years injured. I just have a horrible feeling that he's now recovered and he's going to have a purple patch for them.

Saints have announced firmly that they won't sell Van Dijk, so that's him gone, for sure

We need some players who can score goals (we sure as Hell didn't have any left towards the end of last season); hopefully Charlie Austin will be fit again, because when he's on form he is immense. It'll also be nice to see Sam Gallagher back, having been loaned to Blackpool last season: I think he's promising. However, we need at least one more top quality striker and there's not much sign of anyone on the horizon yet, though rumours are rife, as usual.

Finally, much rests on the calibre of our new manager. He's an unknown quantity in the UK (not that it matters, frankly) but we'll have to wait and see if he gels with the team or not. Puel didn't and, in the final analysis, that was why he had to go.

It seems Sky wanna televise 3 of our games the first being a Home to Newcastle on Sunday 20th August. The 2nd being West Ham away now on Monday 11th September and the 3rd being Spurs at home Saturday 30th September with a 12:30pm kick off and yet another to be televised is the Away trip to Arsenal on Weds November 29th. Just hope they don't disappoint us. Quite looking forward to the big kick off 5 weeks on Saturday. Or 4 weeks on Saturday in the case of all the lower leagues. Bring it on. UTT

Huddersfield Town have announced another pre-season friendly ahead of their inaugural Premier League campaign – this time in Germany.

David Wagner's men will face 2. Bundesliga side SV Sandhausen at the German club’s BWT Stadium on Tuesday July 18 (kick-off 6pm local time).

Blimey it just gets better

It is the club's sixth confirmed friendly and comes after the away trips to Accrington Stanley (Wednesday, July 12) and Bury (Sunday, July 16).

After the trip to Germany it's back to England and a visit to Oakwell to face Barnsley on Saturday, July 22 (3pm kick-off).

The club will then embark on an Austrian training camp between July 29 - August 5 where they will face VFB Stuttgart (Tuesday, August 1) and Torino (Friday, August 4) ahead of the Premier League kick-off away to Crystal Palace on Saturday, August 12th.

Huddersfield Town have made their sixth permanent signing of the summer with the capture of Scott Malone from Fulham FC.

The 26 year-old defender has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the option of a further year, joining David Wagner's side for an undisclosed fee.

Shaping up very nicely indeed. Lets hope by the big kick off we will have a strong squad and be able to put up a damned good fight in the Prem.

We have played 2 Friendlies so far, away to Carlisle City 0-4 and away to Penrith 0-5
We're away at Workington Reds tonight then away to Blyth Spartans then home to Blackburn Rovers our international match away at QOTS is still to be arranged

Im a Sunderland fan and I'm sorr of looking forward to the new season. It cannot be as bad as the last one, can it?

We appointed a steady away manager in Grayson and he is going to have to work miracles with what he's been left with squad wise. The club needs a total rebuild after years of mismanagement at all levels.

A new striker or 3 wouldn't go a miss as all we have is 2 youth centre forwards at the moment.

Welcome aboard Mackem

Do you see a quick return to the prem?

No.

We are a car crash of a club at the moment. Too many wasters still at the club.

Once these are shipped out and funds released we may kick on, but knowing Safc some disaster is just around the corner.

Peter Reid has not been the same since!

Got battered by those red rubbish last night in our first pre season friendly.
We were awful! Could have been a lot worse!
