2017/2018 Football Season

Playing against 10 men from the 11th minute and we still couldn't bloody win. Ended up 0-0. That is bad We really need to win the next 3 now or we can kiss the Premier League goodbye. Not happy at all and I guess I'll find out how **** we were on MOTD. Lets hope Chelsea beat Palace tonight and Man City beat Stoke on Monday night.

I have to admit having seen it on MOTD you certainly weren't playing as the commentators think you should have been. And as for our game well once that Swansea player got sent off we should have but didn't capitalise on it. I thought we were lacking and should be throwing everything at the next 8 games. We need to wake up and realise that relegation is still very possible. Wagner needs to change things his formations are ****. All I can say is suddenly Yorkshire derby's are looking very likely once again next season unless we throw all we got in to the last 8 games. Lets hope we both survive mate. Good luck
 
The trip to Milan was so good. We had expected our day trip to Lake Como to be the highlight of the stay, but unbelievably the highlight was actually the footie! I fell and hurt my ankle and knee before the game but managed to hobble to the ground OK. The facilities for away fans was very poor, (and yes we have been to Exeter.....)Can't believe such a big club gets away with such poor toilet facilities, even worse than Roma.

Well after closely studying the final 8 games of Stoke and Crystal Palace, I've come to the conclusion that we may just survive to fight another season in the Prem but its going to be a close one. We really need to pick 3 points up from the Crystal Palace game on Saturday and a point from both the Newcastle and Brighton games would be welcome cos both Stoke and Palace have some stinkers left to play. I think poor old West Brom are going down that's more or less cut and dried. I reckon the Saints will be sweating it even more than we are as they got some stinkers. Hold on tight @jay hay-char its going to be a bumpy ride all the way to the finishing line. But there again we are renowned for pulling off some pretty hair raising escapes god knows we've done it enough times in the Championship and League 1. UTT and UTS hope we both survive and Stoke and Palace go down.

If we aren't safe by the last match of the season, we've got Citeh, which will almost certainly put the tin lid on things.

Saints have been renowned escape artists in the past but the run-in isn't promising, as you say, and things are different nowadays. We should have got six points out of the last three games, and we only got two: says it all, really.
 


We got Palace, Newcastle, Brighton, Watford,Chelsea, Everton, City and Arsenal so the last 5 are tough ones that we aren't gunna win I doubt. Just hope and pray eh

By the way, The daggers are struggling to be in business next season. They have run out of money! Even the wet spam friendly won't be enough. They are trying to sell a couple of players this week. Just to keep going

And there is more!
We have joined other clubs including the udders that are scrapping their academies and only having a youth team.
I find this unbelievable but from a lot I have read and discussed with academy coaches, it makes economic sense.
It is great for the elite clubs at the top of the premiership and England players.
The system is targeted at the elite players but not the academy's that produces the first steps.
So far this season our academy have lost six players in total with no recompense because we are out of the league, and even if we were, the sum would still be a nominal fee, we can't afford to justify those expenditures, because the big clubs want to hoards players, that will probably never get a chance at professional football development, other than youth and u23s.
Most clubs will now just buy abroad,.
We have a tremendous record in bringing youngsters through, there are many local players throughout the league, we have three at Carlisle!
There will be others, that will scrap their academies, I have no doubt!
We have lost two senior and twelve part time coaches, and other football related jobs, this will impact on other departments through the club.

Seriously though - it's a couple of months too late, in my opinion. The club's statement says that "The club will look to appoint a new management team (they've sacked his deputy and the deputy coach as well) as soon as possible, with the search for a replacement already underway". I should effin' well hope so - they should have a replacement lined up and ready to go now, frankly.

Yeah that was a shock eh poor old Mauricio Pellegrino getting the boot. I agree with them for sacking him they've done ****** all wins wise. But there again we haven't had a good run of late yet we haven't sacked Wagner. I don't think Deano and the rest of the crew would wanna sack Wagner he'd have to leave on his own bat.
Good luck to Southampton I hope they appoint someone who will lift them off the danger zone though it could be too little too late.

Southampton have gambled that sacking Mauricio Pellegrino with only eight games left is their best bet of staying in the Premier League.

The club are just one point and one place above the relegation zone, having won just one of their past 17 league games.

Former Stoke boss Mark Hughes is in talks to take over at St Mary's, but does he have enough time to save the Saints?

Only twice in 10 years has a manager taken over a relegation-threatened club this late on and guided them to safety - and both were Sunderland.

But the Black Cats did not get a third life and did eventually go down last year.



And look where Sunderland are now. Lets hope the same doesn't happen to the Saints. @jay hay-char I hope you stay up mate.
