Hi guys,

I am type 1 diabetic, pregnant with a little girl! I'm currently under a lot of stress to do with my partner and some problems he's going through.
I'm worried that the amount of stress I'm under will affect my pregnancy or my diabetes at all?

The last couple of days I have had to up my insulin as I seem to be more resistant.
I've no idea why this has happened, has this happened to anybody else?

Sorry you're under stress. I hope whatever is causing that can be sorted ok.

Yes, stress can cause higher sugars, but you're at a stage where your insulin resistance will be increasing, so that could have an effect too. Test lots and keep in touch with your team so you can get their advice about insulin doses.

I know it's easy to say, but try to relax. Sitting quietly and doung sime deep breathing can help a lot. You might also want to chat to your midwife about it so they know things are harder for you at the moment.
