Hi All
I was diagnosed T2 3 months ago with a HbAC1 result of 16.3 (Horrendous). Given 500mg of Metformin twice a day, and told to 'lose weight', as last November I was north of 18 stone (I am only 5'7). Since then I have lost a fair degree of weight and am 15'2 today.
I have just had another test and it was 9.2. Not where I want it to be but the doctor was very pleased with the fall since the last test. He also supported my policy of lower carbing (150g a day currently, for the last 2 months).
I need to lose more weight, up my excercise and perhaps reduce carbs a bit more. I am going to go for 125g and see how I get on, and also get a meter.
I just wanted to post because I have been very worried that my levels would not have dropped at all, but also to say that the general pricipals of reducing carbs and weight do seem to have an impact on blood sugar levels.
