3 red and 3 black lab puppies

When people who know nothing about the LCHF diet tell me I'm killing myself being on it. I was killing myself not being on it!
Arrived this morning from 3.27am to 8.58am Mother and babies doing well :)
2 fox red (so the vet says) and 3 black girls. 1 Lonely fox red boy.

Most have homes already, at a few hours old :)

The biggest was a whopping 510g (1lb 2oz in old money)
Vet came to house t check her over for us this afternoon and said she is in very good condition and the pups are all real fatties, especially the biggest who now goes by the name of 'Big Bertha'!
So if you want to know my FBS readings today and those through the day, I have no idea! Now tucking into a small plate of brown shrimps, boiled egg and farm type cheese that my daughter made. Followed by a ramikin portion size of strawberries and cream, the small bowl is full so tells my brain that it MUST be a huge portion!

Gorgeous, gorgeous puppies. I've gone all puppy broody. :(

What are your current plans for the puppies, will you sell them, keep one or some or keep them all? I would love another Lab, but with our lifestyle, it would be plain old cruelty.

Keeping one, 3 friends having one, maybe 4 friends. Will sell one. Think there is interest in her too.

Gorgeous! Wish I could take one of the black girls off your hands - I don't think there's anything more adorable than a black lab puppy. And Mum is a beautiful girl too, isn't she?
I adore labradors - I've never met one with a bad temperament and we've had quite a few. (We currently belong to Pepper, who is now 8 years old; enjoys chasing balls, chewing sticks, bringing slippers, meeting people and rolling in fox poo.)

All puppies have been offered homes, all to people we know, so will be able to keep contact with them. One is going down to Speyside in Scotland, the rest all staying locally. We will even get one back for it's holidays :) The pups have all put on 100g plus in 2 days. I changed the weaning food that mum has, the first lot I was advised to use was full of things that could cause an allergy, I looked it up on the internet and was shocked. So I bought a far better bag of James Wellbeloved food, which should be even better for mum and pups. Only the best for my babies! I don't smoke or drink, have no time for a social life whilst these pups are here, so have to spend my pennies on something!

Despite what you say, I'm sure you'll be working hard on them socialising:rolleyes:
like most of us caring surogate "dog parents" we'll do the best for our dogs!
 
Puppy rails have been put around the whelping bed so that mum can't squash the pups. But the next day they have to be raised as one pup that was 510g (1lb 2oz) when born is now well over 600g and getting too big to fit under them!
I didn't say before, but 14 hrs after pup No. 6 mum started to give birth to No. 7, we had to get the vet to her as the pup was well stuck. We could feel that the pup had died, but we were scared to hurt mum if we pulled too hard as pup was coming back feet first and there were no more contractions. So we had to go to the vets (only 2 mins drive away) at 10.45pm and the vet helped to deliver pup. After mum was x-rayed to confirm no more pups. This one was the 6th girl and another black pup. My grandson's named pup Nugget and we buried her in the back garden, next to our other dog and 2 cats.
My husband sleeps in the kitchen on a blow up mattress at night, says he'll do it for 2 wks until the rolling on top of pups threat is past. We have homes for all of the pups, all going to friends or folk we know.

They are so adorable. We lost our black lab who was 11 years old in May 2015 and a week later we got Barney, a springador pup. He is now 16 months old and is into everything. I swear he has a neck like a giraffe LOL. He chewed my dad's cheque book this morning!
