Hi everyone, im in my 3rd week of doing the LCHF and i must say that my BS reading started to behave almost immediately. I just wanted some guidance on what i am doing is correct as although my main aim was to get my BS levels in good order i also want to lose weight. My first week i lost 3 1/2 lbs but my 2nd week i put on 1/2 lb. I am trying to remember to record what i eat on the Carbs and cals app but im not sure if my targets for Carbs, Fats, Protein are right. I have put that my daily target for cabs is 50g and then the app auto calculated my Cals at 1337, Protein at 167 and fat at 52. So for Monday this week after i had input my food up till lunchtime i had consumed 59g carbs, 1170 cals, 37 protein, 87 fat. I didnt eat anything for the rest of the day only because i think i ate too many nuts after lunch and felt sick and bloated for the rest of the day. Up until then i had scrambled egg and bacon for breakfast, 2 cups of decaf coffee with cream and greek yoghurt with strawberries and jelly at lunchtime. i feel great in myself just a bit tired, but i am worried that im not eating enough protein and too much fat?
im sorry this is a bit garbled but any help would be great! :)

You need to go back in to the app and change your protein and fat round. The protein at 167g is far too much and the fat at 52g is too little. You need a lot more fat and a lot less protein. I've just had a play around on My Fitness Pal and inserted your calories at 1337. Then made carbs 50g. protein 67g and fat 97g (which is 15% carbs, 20% protein and 65% fat) Does that make more sense for your personal eating plan?

Don't worry about your weight loss. We lose water in the first week or so, and then the fat starts to drop off.

Thanks @Bluetit1802 , i think i may need to download the my fitness pal app as the Carbs and Cals dont let me adjust each item individually, if i try to alter the protein the fat and carbs automatically change. To be honest i get really confused with all the %'s and figures, my appetite has greatly reduced since i started LCHF anyway, so i seem to be eating when im hungry and to my meter. Sometimes it just gets too much and i get really down with having to think about food nearly every minute of the day, i hate that diabetes is so controlling. :banghead:

It will get easier once you know what you can or can't eat. Eating when hungry and to your meter is a good way to tackle it. If the apps are confusing you or getting you down, forget them. Just keep a food diary yourself, including portion sizes, either on your computer or in a note book. Then record your before and after levels along side. The Carbs & Cals book (not the app) is an excellent book for seeing how many carbs, fat, protein and fibre you are eating, and shows the weights and portion sizes of loads of different foods.

Hi - I agree with @Bluetit1802 - the protein and fat need adjusting. I recently downloaded MFP & like the fact you can change the ratios around. It is time consuming being diabetic! Gd luck :-)
