I got given some 70% chocolate from the French supermarket Monoprix and it claims to be 34g carb per 100g despite containing confit orange pieces. Surely this can't be correct?

Glucides 34g Dont Sucres 34g

@phoenix ?

****. France has the "5 A Day" nonsense too!? Who (literally) makes this stuff up?

Pour votre santé, mangez au moins cinq fruits et légumes par jour.

Is that high or low for only 70% cocoa chocolate with orange?
I have a bit of Lindt 90% at 14g carbs per 100.

Lindt 90% cocao I would expect to be low carb, though it's an acquired taste. I would have thought a 70% cocao with sugary pieces would be 50% carb or more.

If it's 70% chocolate there can't be that much space left over for sugar so I'd say 34% seems reasonable with the bits of orange.

Enjoy.
