This week i came back from an amazing 5 days trip to Nice. My glucose levels were very good because i walked and walked, cycled and even joined a senior yoga group on Castle Hill.
I remember being so afraid before my first holiday on basal/bolus regime. For over a year i hadn't been out of London because of fear of hypos. The first trip was very bad because i had a horrible cold, lost my voice and everything seemed unmanageable. In September i went to my country of origin Austria which went really well. In Nice and Austria i was even often naughty, ate schnitzel, applestrudel and in Nice socca, cakes and baguettes. Afterwards i always cycled or walked as fast as i could, used even less insulin and never even had a spike!
I am so happy i got so encouraging feedback from some forum members a few month back Thank you!
Hello @enzina Good to hear that you had an amazing break As we all know there is no holiday from diabetes but getting away is so important, even better when your BG levels play nicely !
