5 year old with under arm body odour

Hi
I have a 5 year old girl who was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes on Sept 2006. Over the past few months she has had a strong under arm odour (to the point of her 7 year old sister mentioning it to me) Is this linked to Diabetes or should I seek help from our GP????? :?
 
Hi Marion,
I have never heard of a direct link, if her hygene is good, i would seek medical advise as it could be a bacterial infection. And as we know any infection can play havoc with our little ones bs levels, no matter where that infection may be in their bodies.
Best get it checked out, to be on the safe side,

p.s i have a 10yr old T1 son, his BO is down to plain laziness, but thats boys for you LOL

I couldn't get the link to work myself, but I put it into google and went from there and did eventually get there.
 
Is it the fruity smell of ketones? Is she having some high peaks in bsl's that would cause this. I can smell ketones on my son's breathe when he is ill and has a few high levels.
