I have just started cutting down on carbs from Monday, and my readings are also heading in the right direction. I would like to ask though if anyone else suffered with headaches when they started reducing? Mine started yesterday and I just cant keep it at bay, have been taking lots of painkillers which dull it for a while and then it comes back with a vengeance. I presume its a side effect to not eating carbs, but does it last long?

It may of course be coincidental, but "Atkins flu" is a fairly well known phenomenon, it takes a finite amount of time for your body to switch from high glucose mode to utilising ketones. (It takes a lot less time to switch back, so don't weaken!)
Strangely I never got headaches, but I used to get occasional migraines. Haven't had one for years now.
Keep at it, keep hydrated as the others suggest, and watch your numbers also tumble.
