Evening all!

Almost a spring day in Bath, I was very confused!

It's now c. 60 days since the formal finger wagging and pointing that I was a new member of the T2 club, swiftly followed about a month later by joining here.

So what have I learned in the c. 60 days since it all occurred:

1. Although we're all labelled as diabetic there's more than two types all of which have their own nuances. More than that, even as compadres T2, we react very differently to drugs, food and it is an individual chronic disorder which we all have to own for ourselves. Who knew?!!

2. The variability of advice from HCPs is mind numbing and the laissez-faire attitude of many reeks of disinterest at best or incompetence at worst. I however have struck gold with my GP and a DSN who's up there with my hero - Archie Gemill the former Scotland football player! She's amazing.

3. Test, test, test. Keep carbs low and build out a plan based on data supporting long term goals.

4. T2 - no snacking policy! Doesn't always work. Cheese mmm. Peanut butter OMG!

5. Loving the Diabetes forum here. Learning from many sages, watching skillful, knowledgeable and good humoured moderators who deserve our kudos and great thanks.

6. Learning to cook from scratch. Sometimes it's a miracle; other times it requires the potential attendance of the fire brigade. My new air fryer thanks to the advice of @KK123 should solve. Probably.

7. For the first time ever, today I have seen results at 6.3mmol fasting on wakening and 5.3 through the day.

8. Lost another 5lbs and slide into my red corduroys which I couldn't fasten in early November...My wife detests them, so glad they fit now LOL!

Most of all, thanks to you guys here who put up with my rantings and nonsense...and the amazing information and support which flows...

My old Tefal air fryer is the sort that just stirs things gently - nothing fancy, but it is worth having just to do chicken thighs, which it makes very succulent, with crispy skins, and then you can cook some mushrooms or stir fry in the juices whilst the skin on the chicken mysteriously evaporates......
