Hi
Just a quick question, I feel tired and snotty but previously have managed my type 2 with Metformin and exercise (reducing to usually 4.7 - 5.6 sugars) it sounds silly but is this elevation likely to be because I'm poorly and or have an infection?

Thanks
Pippa

That certainly sounds reasonable to me. Your body sees being poorly or having an infection as stress. To deal with stress, your body releases hormones which release stored sugar from your liver.

It's possible - infections are known to raise blood glucose levels (as your body fights the infection), as are some medications.

Thanks both, on a nasal spray and it's the anniversary of losing my Mum this week (2 yrs) so could all be a factor, just worried me a little.
