Anonymous Question 75 years old, type 2, Januvia & Jardiance

Hi. I wondered if anyone can help me. Im 75 years old and have had type 2 for approx 4 years. Until recently I had been taking Januvia until my GP asked me to switch to Jardiance. Since taking Jardiance I have been feeling weak, sick and tired. My GP keeps telling me that I have to just stick with it and things will settle down. Ive continued for nearly 2 months now and I dont feel I can carry on. Does anyone know of any alternatives or been in a similar situation? King regards, Alex

Sorry to hear this; why did your Dr ask you to switch? He should have told you why and should take your problems with Jardiance seriously. If he won't help ask to be referred to someone who will. At 75 you don't want to end up in a downward spiral of ill health.

Was the Januvia not working? I agree with Arab horse. Your GP should take your problems more seriously and discuss alternatives with you.
