780G questions

Hey! I have been a member here for some time however haven’t posted in a few years now. I finally started on the 780G with guardian 3 yesterday and so far I’m getting used to not catching tubing on everything and figuring out the best place to clip the pump! What I was wondering though is if anyone else has had the same issues with manual mode on the 780G that bolus wizard only displays a glucose reading if you are within 5 minutes of a calibration? Is there a setting that I haven’t been told about? I’m finding it rather frustrating having to go back to 3000000 blood tests a day after 2 years using libre with only a few tests a week! Also would love to hear peoples experiences of auto mode which I’m getting to start next week- does this eliminate all the testing?
Thank you for any pointers

I'm sorry, I don't use the 780G but do use the 670G with Guardian 3sensor. I thought they looked somewhat similar. If so, you should be able to see your BG when you press the centre (circular) button. If this doesn't work, phone Medtronic and ask them (if you can't find it in the user guide.)

Hello, I have been on the 670G previosly and now the 770G. You will have to let the pump run in manual mode for at least 6 days in order for it to learn your personal algorithm. Then you can transfer to Auto mode. Calibration with BS is normally every 12 hours, although there are exceptions.

Unfortunately, the BS does drop off after about 5-10 mins from the auto entry. Provided that your CGM is consistent with your BS, then I enter my CGM reading. As long as you feel fine, (NO hypo or Hyper) this should be fine. I know the recognized practice is to BS before each meal bolus but for me, this works fine.

Also of note is that if a BS is above or below the CGM reading by more than 35%, then do not calibrate. Wait at least two hours to calibrate. If the BS difference is more or less than 35%, the calibration will not be accepted. You will be told to recalibrate in 15 min. If it still greater or less than 35% you will be forced to change your sensor. Better to enter BS via event marker and wait at least 2 hrs to calibrate. You can enter your BS normally but do not calibrate when asked. You can still use the Bolus to treat BS.

Hope this helps.
