Hi All,

A little background. Diagnosed Type 2, June 2017 HbA1c 54 (7.1%), Chol 5.8, 13 stone 7lb.
September HbA1c 48 (6.5%), Chol 5.4 (0.4 reduction in LDL), 12 stone 2lb.
May 2018 HbA1c 45 (6.3%), Chol 6.2 (LDL back up 0.4 but HDL now 0.4 up), 11 stone 7lb.
Have spent much time reading many, many posts before plucking up courage to post myself. Rarely take things at face value but decided to put into practice what I have learnt. A big thankyou to all the positive posters who have helped me to improve my health over the last 11 months, so many posters have contributed to this I could list dozens but to name some of the most influential, Brunneira, Bulkbiker and Nocrbs4me + many others. Have (obviously) significantly changed my ways, haven't been a saint but have found many significant health improvements as a result of diet change and achieved with not too much pain either. So glad to have found this website and should be compulsory reading for all newly diagnosed.

Well done, those are smashing numbers!

Great results @farmerk! :) Always good to hear of successes, I hope you continue to post to encourage others.

Brilliant. There are a lot of very helpful people on the forum who can share their experiences. I've certainly learned most from others on here too.

Very well done! It’s great here isn’t it?

Wonderful! Your post is perfect - compulsory! - reading for the newly-diagnosed (and everyone else) and so positive, @farmerk. Well done and thank you for posting. :)

Very good results but more importantly well done for taking control. Keep up the great work!

Awww! Thanks for the mention. :D

And well done YOU since it is you who have done all the hard work!

Thankyou for all your positive replies. Strange how my change in diet has VASTLY reduced or completely ELIMINATED many other health issues that i had originally put down to getting older, working too hard or lack of sleep. These issues WERE acid indigestion, bloating, flatulance (maybe a downside!), various pains and bad moods amongst other things. POSSIBLY! my previous high carb diet was responsible for the aforementioned. Incidentley after being a poor sleeper for most of my life, from January (7 months after diagnoses) I now have very restful sleep and feel refreshed most mornings instead of feeling like the waking dead. Bread is defo my nemises, both the tiredness after and meter readings seemed to have proved this, can anyone relate to this.

Yes my meter tells me I can't manage bread, although every now and then I manage to convince myself that some variety of new fangled artisan bread might just be ok. It's not! Was delighted to find a couple of Lidl protein rolls at the back of the freezer today as I'm ok with those but understand Lidl has now discontinued them. :arghh:
