The best advice you'll get don't rely on the Doctors to give you all the advice you need. If you've got internet access you're already 1 step ahead of the game.
You'll need to do LOTS of research, and (unfortunately) lots of trial and error with what you are eating.
You need to find out what food effects your BG (Blood Glucose), by testing prior to eating, 1 hour after eating, and then again 2 hours after eating.
You might be surprised to find that some of the fruit you are eating can hit your BG quite hard, and if you do find that with any of the fruits you are eating regularly, you'll probably want to cut down...
Also - Red Wine is known to have a beneficial effect on lots of T2s.
