Hi I've been on lchf for around 2 weeks now, initially felt great, sugars were great and lost weight (I'm not over weight by any means but am training for an Ironman so want to lose the unwanted baggage!) But over the last couple of days I've become got irritable/headaches/muslce aches/bs a bit up and down... Is this lchf flu?
Also I'm struggling to understand the state of ketosis for type 1s? I know what it is but am a bit concerned as I thought high levels of ketones were dangerous? Can someone please explain and also let me know what kind of levels I should be aiming for?
Plus Ive noticed a rise in my bs even if I have only eaten say a chicken breath with skin on with cheese/tomatoes and spinach. I bolus for what carbs there are but can sometimes have bs levels of 16 a couple of hours after? Is this because of not bolusing for the protein in the chicken? If so can someone please explain how to bolus for protein please?
It all seemed really easy at the beginning but seems to be a lot more to think about the more I get into it?
Thanks in advance
Rich
