I was carrying out a bit of personal diabetes research this morning (basically diving in and out of internet black holes) and came across this from 2020:-

It has some interesting patient and professional perspectives about T2, but the standout comment comes from Dr Johnny Lyon-Maris, who clearly regards funding finger-prick test kits and strips for us T2s as unnecessary and also states not prescribing them is a "significant saving" to the NHS...:banghead:

I do hope he read the patient response below his comment.

I'm struggling to get my bottom jaw off the floor.

When my diabetes was diagnosed in hospital while in for something else 2 and a bit years ago, without anyone telling me, and being given insulin injections without anyone telling me what they were and why they were (though I could work it out) I was also put on aspirin and Clopidogrel. After I came out of hospital, my GP phoned me that night and told me to come off the aspirin and Clopidogrel at once and to collect some other meds from the surgery the following day. But he didn't give any reasons and I was too ill to initiate conversation.

Now I discover why I shouldn't have been prescribed those.

Words do not fail me, but suffice it to say thank you for the explanation and links. I do wonder if most medics who specialise in this or that ever consider that they are treating a whole person who may also have some other condition as well.

Although not one to panic easily when I was told that I had an appointment in 5 hours for an ECG I was a bit thoughtful.
I have had an irregular heartbeat for some time now, and it was interesting to see the display making sense of it - one set of nerves is firing off early, disrupting my ventricular contraction so the pulses in my wrist, feet and neck etc pause at fairly regular intervals.
OK - being honest about it my heart is beating twice then pausing.
Bit of a Schrodinger's cat situation as I can never actually know if the last pause is The Last Pause.
