Hello everyone,

I can't express how glad I am to have found this sight. I have been searching for a while now for a place that has loads of information on diabetes...My son was diagnosed 4 years ago with type 1 diabetes, he has been living with his father throughout this whole ordeal so i'm still sitting here in the dark on most everything. I get him for one month out of the year for visits and now my sons tells me he wants to live with me. Today I have had to deal with him not feeling good at all, he cant even keep water down and wont eat, a parent seeing their child like this gives me the most helpless feeling I have ever had......Let me tell ya I would not wish this feeling on my worst enemy!!!!! So I suppose I could still be considered a new b......I just had to write a little bit down to say thank you all for all the helpfel information here and support......

Thank you,
Kelly

Hi Kelly and welcome to the forum :) There are plenty of Mums and Dads on this forum to share experiences with you and who will answer any questions you may have especially as your son is not well at the moment. In the meantime, in case you haven't found it yet, here is the link to the Diabetes Youth Club where parents and children discuss all issues concerning their family's diabetes with each other. If you have any problems you will find help there.

Aww! :( I hope he feels better soon!
I'm 16, and I have type 1 diabetes, and it's not nice sometimes, but I'm sure you two will be able to get through the troubles together, just him knowing you are there would help a lot i'm sure :)
Although, I think I rely on my mum a bit too much with things haha I need to be a bit more independant :P
I'm kind of new here, But welcome, this place is amazing :)
