PS I have just found this interesting bit of research saying Lantus and Gliclazide MR combination is better than twice daily mixed injections - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25952634 I wonder too if I couldn't just have Toujeo as a substitute for both Lantus and Gliclazide as it lasts up until 36 hours?

There is a reason why you are on Glickazide.. It helps maximise your pancreas function when you eat? Toujeo alone is just a 3x more concentrated background insulin..

I tend feel quite low when my reading is around 4.1 (slight inner shaking cold sweat) I have never had a hypo but definitely showing signs since nearly getting some control over my BS

Wow! Thanks John - Yes, albeit 20 or 25 mcgs so low. To ensure full cure the endocrinologist advised me to stay on it and the Carnimazole until the end of January, when I see him next .....

Just an aside, I was also on Propranolol for a year up until a couple of months ago which can cause hyperglycaemia ..... I had really scary post prandial summer readings when I first started to take post prandial readings and I have since stopped it.

Thanks @Jaylee . That confirms my suspicions as when on lower levothyroxine i felt metformin WAS more effective.
Now. On 30g carb lchf i need less levothyroxine but on 100-150g carb i need the full 200mg of levothyroxine. After xmas i will be doing 30g carb again so well see if that is why i can reduce insulin rather than the R-ala suppliment?
Furthermore not taking levothyroxine on empty stomach reduces the levothyroxine's effectiveness too. A juggling game of when tablets should be taken. Metformin doesn't work as well on my evening bgs, maybe levothyroxine was slowly digested due to food. Hence why morning fasts work better for bgs in some too. Without levothyroxine the well functioning thyroid slowly releases throxine not in a lump like our substitute tablet.

No it may do but that is not what I meant or thought.

Thanks John. My diabetic consultant and endicrinologist are in the same department so are aware of my current medication ..... However ..... Said consultant initially failed to spot thyroid problem and my doctor prescribed Propranolol;, a beta blocker, not suitable, and this was not spotted at the hospital .....

To ensure complete chances of recovery,I'm stuck with taking Levothyroxine and Carbimazole until the end of January when I see the endocrinologist again.

Fasting today was 6.3 and post breakfast 8.5.
