Hiya everyone

I wanted to send a huge thank you to people on this forum for all their wonderful help, care and advice to me since being diagnosed in September.

I have just had my 5th DN appointment and i have left with her in amazement at my progress.

Blood pressure down from 133/90 to 118/78
Weight down from 16st 3lbs too 14st 3lbs
Morning readings down from 6.6 too 5.7
2 hour after meals testing 4.7 - 6.2 depending on what i have had.

I exercise doing 10 miles a night every night except Satuday ( my day off from the bike )

You wonderful people have probably saved me from a lifetime of complications and i am 110% commited to keeping going with my new lifestyle.

My DN even gave me a big hug and said she cannot believe how educated i am about diabetes in such a short time and that i should feel very proud - And i do!

Counting carbs i know isnt for everyone BUT it has worked wonders for me and is now my way of life.

When i was diagnosed i was gutted to say the least but i can now honestly hand on heart say being diagnosed was the best thing to happen - It was a sharp short shock that was needed to kick start me into a better healthier life.

Thank you so much!

Carol xxxx

well done Carol! Encouraging stuff!

Carol, you've made my day! What a fantastic achievement and I hope you stick around to share your success with others.

All the best,

fergus

PS What a lovely DSN you have!

Hi Carol,

Excellent results. The low/moderate diet + exercise has so far worked for me too (first A1c = 5.0). Have you managed to reduce your BP without meds? Whatever, like you, this forum, has helped me greatly. Best wishes and good health to you.
