A man walks into an empty bar and asks for a pint of lager, while the barman is pouring the drink the man helps himself to some peanuts on the bar and hears someone saying "wow, you're really good looking, what a gorgeous man you are", the barman comes back with the drink and the man asks for some change for the cigarette machine.
The man goes to the cigarette machine and hears someone saying "wow you're really ugly, you disgust me fatty", shocked the man goes back to the bar. He calls the barman over and says "look, while you were pouring my drink I heard someone saying how good looking I was, when I went to get cigarettes I heard someone saying how ugly I was, what's going on?"
The barman says -
"Ah, yes well sir the bar snacks are complimentary and the cigarette machine is out of order........"
