A Month of Normal.

Afternoon all.

I have posted here previously in 'Ask the Experts'. Had some fantastic advice about carbohydrates.

Had a letter from the doctor the other day for a routine Cholesterol check. Had that. All Fine. Also tested my HBA1c. Went back the following week for the next part of routine manhandling of me for a Pneumonia injection. 8.3 was my HBA1c which was the highest I think its been although thats not surprising considering I ate what I wanted over the months before and around the Christmas period. I first posted for advice on here around Feb.

So, 8.3 isnt the worst reading, although im aiming for the 6s when I go to the clinic in May.

Anyway, my reason for posting isnt directly related to the above.

A MONTH OF PERFECT HEALTH AND EXERCISE.

Im completing the last part of a short film im working on and need to get into shape. A shape ive never been in before.

Since the helpful advice in Feb ive been eating a piece of fruit for breakfast and eggs or crackers for lunch and have a pretty normal dinner so im not likely to be changing my diet too drastically. A lot more salad I guess but exercise will be the main change here.

One slight mishap I will be cutting out is alcohol and the occasional food binges that comes from it. These are the only times my sugar levels really go wild, part from that my control over the last few months have been great.

Im currently 15 St. 6ft something and wouldnt say im over weight. Ive just started running again. 3 times last week. Going to change that to 4 this week. Then combine that with lifting weights the week after.
----

So, basically I thought id stick to this task easier if I was to document it here and may be others would take part to some degree and lose some weight themselves.

Ill also be keeping all food, exercise and blood readings in an excel document and I guess if anyones interested in that I can post it on here.

Almost time for some eggs, a bit of film editing then a run tonight.

Its a very exciting time.

I like the positive attitude!!
Keep up the good work and keep us informed.Any questions, just ask.

Just thought id give an update.

Ive been exercising almost everyday since my last post. Running, lifting weights sit ups etc. Ive been eating healthily. Although I do find myself snacking a bit at night just to make up for all the exercise im doing.

Here are my BL for the last 9 days. 5 columns. BL an hour after Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and before bed (12am roughly) and then the 5 column is an average for the day.

5.8-- 6.7-- 7.4-- 10-- 7.48
5.5-- 11.7--4-- 6-- 6.8
0-- 3.1-- 6-- 5-- 4.7
7.3-- 5.5-- 5-- 12-- 7.45
4.4-- 3.7-- 8.2-- 7.6-- 5.98
7.6-- 4.3-- 6.1-- 6-- 6
3.4-- 4.9-- 8-- 4.4-- 5.18
3.1-- 4.7-- 3-- 5-- 3.95
6-- 5-- 0-- 0-- 5.5

First 4 days I was running around 9pm then I switched it to around 10am. Results of 0 is when I run out of testing stripes.

Well done!
you seem to have taken charge of yourself

some nice numbers there well done. I aim to copy :)
Can't get below about 5.3 but I am being patient...still got weight to lose.

To sam,
You are doing great, it is not a competition. Whatever anyone's readings, as long as they are trying to take control, that is all that matters.
Regards,
Catherine.
