"A new you in 42"

I use a body blade too. Shave my legs before I go to be weighed by the nurse in the hope that the scale will be kind.

I am in! But can't start quite yet as eye surgery tomorrow on 2nd eye, so will need a week or so before I can do the exercise. Surgery NOT diabetes related!
Hope surgery went well

Awesome pip - as my sis says every time you do something you are lapping your old self sat on the couch!
You fighting pain and your situation and still doing the challenge - pip you are hardcore!

Hope surgery went well

Surgery went well and seeing great now. A little blurred at times, but that is to be expected. Now both eyes are done and I was told this morning that I can resume my exercise on Thursday, so will join everyone on this challenge. Surprisingly, I have missed my daily half hour on the treadmill! I feel quite guilty lying quietly on the couch. But, I have to be sensible and give my eyes time to heal.

Pipp you are doing fantastic. This challenge is personal to each individual. When I jokingly asked people to join me I was surprised by the response.
For me it is about fitting the exercise/activity into my life and not going back to couch potato after completing the 5x50 challenge.
I am relatively fit now and seeing how people are embracing this when it is often difficult for them and a real challenge for them is one of the most inspirational things that I have ever been involved in.
Through these posts I can see people growing and helping each other.
Thank you to everyone for helping me.

Thanks Jamrox
Its good that the www is being used for something so good and positive, considering some of the dross on social media. I find that having made a public pledge on the forum it is impossible for me to not fulfil that pledge.

It only became possible for me to get out and about for the first time this year a couple of weeks ago. Swimming and aqua based exercise is about all I can do. Prior to having surgery I was doing several intense water work outs a week. So I am using the challenge to build up to that again. I will also try new things if I can. I know my limits, but will always try to extend them. The challenge while I was away this last week, with no swimming pool nearby made me reassess what I was capable of. Fun so far.

Its funny , I was talking to a workmate about feeling that I had to complete the 42 days because I don't want to give up and let people down. She said that no one would know anyway and I could lie. I think she was missing the point , I would know , I would be letting myself and everyone else down .
I am committed to this and to everyone else involved.

Jamrox, Andy12345,

How sad are we? Late Saturday, early Sunday how are we spending our time? On the ruddy forum!!

Rock and roll!
I'm away to kip and gather strength for the next 36 challenging days.

hehe this is quite exciting for me, its past bedtime so this is part of my rock and roll lifestyle

plus im daring to watch you tube videos too, and watch the telly all at the same time, is that even legal? im practically an urban legend

Can you knit Scanichic? The exercise compliance officer has declared that an official event. So I think moving your pen to mark students' work should be a comparable exercise.

Oi, Andy12345,
Good on yer for the activities, and for getting your child active too. Great fun. But, please, please, stay safe. I don't want to be the motorist who knocks you off bike. Also, (and I make no apologies for the preaching/nag) set the child a good example by putting phone on voicemail, so nothing distracts you, cycling on cycle paths, correct side of road, preferably quiet roads. Most important, wear a correctly fitted helmet and cycle gear, high visability. I have seen the damage to skulls and brains caused by cyclist hitting pavement. Not pretty!
Pipp

Thankyou Pipp

I will try to be safe and considerate cyclist, as ive been a driver for so many years and always hated cyclists lol ill do my best not to be a pest

Thankyou for your concern im buying a helmet this week, im gonna try and find one that colour coordinates with my team bg cycling clothes when i eventually get them

Great stuff Andy12345. You will look so cool. Helmet much more attractive than stoved in head. Don't forget you have to kit out littlen too.
