I am a diabetic who has been in denial for years, but I've recently woken up and through low-carbing I have reduced my BS levels dramatically. My brother is also a diabetic, but due to almost non-existant advice from his doctor and his own reluctance to find out any information himself, he is now facing going onto insulin as his BS levels are so high. His doctor has only given him a vague idea about what to eat, nothing about following a low carb diet, and my brother believes that the doctor is always right.
Is there a programme he can get into in the UK (I live abroad) where he can get good advice and help with his diabetes? He now believes that insulin is the only way forward and is very sceptical that a low carb diet is the answer. Any help would be much appreciated.
