Enter scenario!

Monday night I was fine, I'd been to sort out the horses and was home at 9pm. BM was 6.5, had dinner, took Humalog, Levemir and went off to sleep.

Tuesday, all day, is none existant to me. I woke in the early hours of Wed morning on the floor of my room. I had my duvet with me, but I was lying with my head on the footstool of my recliner chair. I remember my friend coming in and asking if I was ok, and apparently I told her I was sleeping so she left me alone (the right decision when it comes to getting involved in me sleeping! )

Wednesday evening came about, and I awoke again, in my bed. I've since not felt 100% right. Not hypo-ey, but just not right. My back is in bits from sleeping how I did and my tongue is swollen on the left hand side and very sore.

I'm wondering, have I had a major hypo and some kind of fit? I'm thinking I might have bitten down on my tongue or something? It's really scared me, and I really don't know what's caused this. I used to have really poor control over my diabetes but have really tightened up recently and my average HBA1C, using this site's calculator  is roughly 7.4%, a huge difference to 14% in December. I meant to ring the diabetic nurse today but been so busy it's surpassed my mind. I've got an appointment with my consultant due on Tuesday anyway so will confer with him then.

I don't know what I'm trying to achieve by posting this but just to see if any of you guys have suffered from this degree of hypo? I'm now even more ridiculously articulate about my BMs and dosages now!

Will also update this thread when I come back from seeing my consultant. If I don't feel better over the weekend, I'll have a look at speaking to NHS Direct/OOH Dr if needed :)

SP.
This is not something that you should wait and see.......it MAY or MAY NOT be due to Diabetes.

Whatever it is down to is NOT normal and needs urgent investigation. I am not wishing to alarm you but there are MANY things that could be the cause. Do not assume it was a hypo.

Please seek advice from a Medical Professional as soon as you can, especially as you do not feel right.

SP....hope all goes well at A&E. I have hypos like this...but never for a whole day. and I have always know it was a hypo when I come round.

Thinking of you.

Sorry guys, completely forgot to update this!

They basically aren't too sure on what happened. They think I more than likely did indeed have a hypo/fit. The swollen tongue/memory loss was the main contender for the indicator of the fit.
They also concluded I had quite a concussion and have jarred my back in falling, so lots of rest for me!
They kept me in overnight for obs then let me home yesterday morning. I'm due to see my consultant on Tuesday anyway so they were happy enough to let me go.

Hopefully I'll never experience anything like that again (she wishes!) but I've got my Glucagon kit kept right by my bedside and have instructed housemates on what to do!

Thankyou for the get well vibes xxx

Hi SP.

We are so glad that you are on the mend....you had us worried on the night and next day when we heard nothing from you. Get plenty of rest and take good care of yourself.

Thanks guys, I know I'm naughty and forget to update my threads!! Am trying hard to rest, but had to exercise one of the horses yesterday (from the ground, don't worry!) and he was a bit fresh so got rope burns on my hands to add to the list
If my consultant has anything to add I'll update this thread on Tuesday :D xx
