A year of LCHF

It's been a bit over a year since I committed to LCHF and in that time, my HbA1c has gone from 46 - 39, fasting BG from 6.5 to 6.0 (could do better but I think I suffer from liver dump), and cholesterol from 5.5 to 5.3 (I didn't have a breakdown of the first one), plus good kidney function. I've also lost about 14 kg.

I need to raise my hdl - 1.2, and reduce my ldl - 3.5 (triglycerides were 1.1). Tips on raising hdl would be appreciated, but I am finally beginning to believe that the fats I'm eating won't kill me

I feel well, my mood is much better and I have a lot more energy.

So, thank you to everyone on here xx

Happy to see such nice figures Hedonista, if i were you ,just take a tablespoon of good olive oil with your main meal.

Great stuff and excellent results.HbA1c of 39 is spot on.Personally I think your cholesterol figs are fine.

Great results and congratulations on over a year on LCHF.

If you want to really be convinced that eating fat won't kill you, read Nina Teicholz 'Big Fat Surprise'. She took 7 years in the research, carefully analysing all the relevant research data and interviewing the scientists involved. The resulting book is a very good read and very reassuring. Your cholesterol figures look fine to me and your HDL and trigs will keep getting better.
