Hi, thanks, I know it is . I have a boring diet I'm bored about eating plain foods and with my anxiety I am restricted what i eat . I need to find other foods to eat .It really is all down to watching what you eat - if you don't, I do not think it will end well at all.
I have always found that eating a planned menu and then seeing my results afterwards was a very positive thing and made me feel downright smug to see the numbers going down - would it not help if you tried it?
Juggling mental health issues with other problems, such as type 2 diabetes, is not easy. It sounds like you are doing as well as you can right now.Hi, thanks, I know it is . I feel I am not strong enough to do anything about my diet right now I am really depressed and down .
Hi, thank you . I struggle to eat high fat apart from butter , it makes me violently sick. Would my A1c change if I was having a panic attack during the blood test ? Because i had a panic attack as I had to put a viser over my face to get into the surgery and my blood pressure went up and I was in a high panic and still am today .Juggling mental health issues with other problems, such as type 2 diabetes, is not easy. Can you access any further help for your anxiety and depression? Stress raises blood sugar levels. Coping with lockdown and type 2 diabetes and only raising your Hba1c by 2 points is really good. And keeping an eye on your weight as well.
What foods do you eat, are there any you don't like? Maybe we can come up with some suggestions.
Your Hba1c is a sort of average of your blood sugar levels over the past three months, so a panic attack won't have affected it.Hi, thank you . I eat chicken pork above ground veg , no fruit not keen. I would like some ideas of desserts as I just need something comforting and I have a sweet tooth. So that is my problem right now .I eat eggs bacon tomato mushrooms
Thanks again . I was wondering about egg custard no pastry , made with a small amount of sugar lolYour Hba1c is a sort of average of your blood sugar levels over the past three months, so a panic attack won't have affected it.
I can't think of any sweet foods that are ok for me to eat and still keep my blood sugar levels down. Sorry.
I have had to find other coping strategies for self soothing, instead of food. It was hard at first, like stopping smoking was hard, but after a week or so my sugar cravings went. It gets easier once sugar addiction has passed.
Look in the forum headings, I am sure there is a section on low carb meals, including treats. I haven't tried it as sweeteners give me headaches. Thanks again . I was wondering about egg custard no pastry , made with a small amount of sugar lol
I make a custard from cream and eggs, vanilla extract and a small amount of artificial sweetener - I use one which doesn't react to heat, just in case, but usually stir it in when addint the vanilla extract, when the custard has cooled down. I usually make one for the morris team Christmas party, and also serve a blackcurrent jelly with blueberries, which has been a real hit over the last few years. There is no need for sugar. Thanks again . I was wondering about egg custard no pastry , made with a small amount of sugar lol

Sounds amazing , I would have to use a small amount of real sugar though cos the artificial sweeteners cause me headaches .I make a custard from cream and eggs, vanilla extract and a small amount of artificial sweetener - I use one which doesn't react to heat, just in case, but usually stir it in when addint the vanilla extract, when the custard has cooled down.
