Hi everyone
so I had my little girl 5 months ago now by c-section,
Now since having her iv noticed I'm still having to take such large amounts of insulin so I take 58 lantus in evening and 62 in morning and my noverapid is about 28-32 units per meal now this for me is still quite a lot considering what I had before I got pregnant?
My levels have been so out of wack since having her finding it hard to jungle baby and levels.
Does anyone no when I should go back down to a normal amount of insulin if that makes sense. Any advise really appreciate it xx

I went back to my normal insulin amounts immediately after delivery. I then had to reduce them slightly over the months as I'm breastfeeding.

What doses were you on before pregnancy? Did you see any drop at all in your insulin doses when you gave birth?

Hi azure
For meals before I was about 10-16 units per meal and about 60 lantus overall, I had c section and yes they dropped after but just feel I'm still taking quit alot amount should I be worried :/
Xx

Has there been any change in your weight? Could you have some insulin resistance?

It's still quite early days and yoyr body may still be getting back to normal. Have you had a chance to ask your DSN about it? I can understand why you're concerned, but I wouldn't worry. Just perhaps give your DSN a call and get some reassurance when you have time.

If you're not too concerned, then maybe leave it a little until things settle a bit and you get your BS levels more stable. Don't put pressure on yourself. Life with a baby is unpredictable and that makes it harder to control your BS.
