Abscess

Hi

I have heard that as a Diabetic you are more prone to Abscesses on your butt, does anyone know if this is true or has had a problem with abscesses??

I don't think its just the ar*e area that is prone .. poor BG control can give rise to spots anywhere and neglected spots can become infected and turn into a full blown abscess causing a right pain in the butt and a trip to the surgery.

Good tight control, of your BG's will make you less prone to spots with probably better health all round.

There is a condition called Folliculitis which Diabetics are prone to, especially with higher than normal blood sugars. This can be very painful and debilitating .
