HEALTH ALERT Sign of danger.
By; Dr. Sergio Verboonen - Bariatric Surgeon

If you have friends, parents, children that are over weight these types of marks read the following: This neither is dirty, nor develops for lack of hygiene!! To this mark is known as ACANTHOSIS-NIGRICANS. It can come out in the neck, face, front, armpits, between the legs and other corporal parts. It’s a mark in the skin that indicates high levels of insulin in the body. It tends to confused with a dirty spot but this actually indicates that the body is resisting to the insulin that the body produces. As result, the pancreas produces more insulin and eventually develops diabetes (almost always type 2). It can disappear with simple changes in life style and a moderate reduction of weight (in many cases). Share the information with your friends and this way we all learn from the droplets of knowledge!!..

I have suffered from this condition for 5 years and it drives me to distraction at times ! I've had every cream, lotion and potion, allergy tests at Addenbrooks hospital, 2 biopsy's and acupuncture all to no avail! Yet none of the health care specialist i've seen has ever mentioned this condition!! They will now though
