Accu check mobile

I have been using this machine for some time and I have found it to be the best of the many that I have user the testing is so easy I have tested more frequently consequently my control is much better.I have received a letter from the doctors surgery stating they will not now provide prescriptions for these and they have issued me with a true you meter and that's the only one I can get items for.

I bet a few "words" were said when you got this news! This is disgraceful. Write to your MP. Nothing will happen, but you'll get a nice letter and envelope - pale yellow and dark green writing I seem to recall :)

Unfortunately this is the case with a lot of people where gp surgery's are changing over to one type of meter, all I can say is you could argue your case for keeping the Accu-Chek Mobile, just explain that you find it much more comfortable and convenient, and are reluctant to change, can't say they'll listen but its worth a try.

I've got an accu-chek. Had it a few years now, does the job. Heard a lot about this sort of thing happening quite a bit unfortunately but If my doctor tried tried to fob me off with a meter I didn't want I would tell him where he could shove it and to go f**k himself and if it came to not testing then so be it (wouldn't do that though, at least not for long anyway). If things still didn't change I'd move surgery or get my prescriptions through my hospital. I know that's not easy for somebody that has limited mobility or lives in the sticks though but I live in the city so it isn't really a problem for me. I feel for you, you should make a hell of a fuss about it.
