Hi,

My daughterus using the 6mm flexlink. Does anyone know if there has been any change in material or anything?
In the last few month, she is complaining about pain not only on the insert itself, but from time to time during the day.
Anyone else has any issue?

Thanks a lot

Welcome to the forum @nayuval

I've just stopped using the flexlink 8mm, and hadn't noticed anything different.

If you haven't done so already, I'd have a word with your daughter's hospital nurse, and maybe try a different cannula. Is it every cannula that she's having issues with? I found Roche very helpful in replacing cannulas, so maybe contact them as well. It could be a faulty batch, if they all had the same lot number on them.

Thanks for your answer.
We did had bad batch few months ago, but those seems to be ok. I suspected it might have been changed because I have additional daughter using the pump, and she also told us that from time to time, it hurts with no reason.
We'll keep follow.

Thank you

Hello again,

Does anyone had some sudden pain from time to time using the accu chek flex link?
My daughter's blood levels are very good, however, she is feeling some pain from time to time.
It is not a one timer and using different batches.
Also, it hurts when she sleeps on the side where it is inserted, does anyone had this problem as well?

Thanks

Cannulas can hurt if you hit a nerve, or a blood vessel sometimes, and I've found places that I avoid putting a cannula because it always hurts. Not sure how old your daughter is, but maybe you/she can keep a log of where the cannula is when it hurts, what she's done prior to it hurting etc, is clothing restricting it. Is the cannula straight when it's removed, has it been knocked in some way etc. Has a big bolus just been given?

Does the pain go away with the same cannula in, or persist until it's removed.

Have you tried using a different length cannula, or the steel cannula at all? Maybe ask for a new insertion device.

Don't know which insulin your daughter's using, but some people find Fiasp stings sometimes.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks again.
She is 11 years old, she is quite thin and an athlete, so this impacts the insertion places availabilty.
The cannula is straight and seems to be ok, we can see it also in her sugar levels.
The pain is not constant and is random in times.
We use Novorapid.
We might try a new insertion device.
Thanks again
