Hi guys
I'm new to using this meter when is the best time to take my readings
 
Iv been on metformin for 3 yrs now I take 2 in a morning and 2 in the evening but just lately I feel like on a boat spoke to my doc who took a blood test and it came back at 59 he said they like below 60 this is my 3 month test he said why not buy a meter and see how you go so I have but when's the best time to take a reading iv been told before breakfast and lunch and evening meal

I did have a reading of 15.1took it again as it's a new meter and it was 12 then I took it again at lunch and it was 5.3 and to night around 2 hrs after my tea it was 12 again
 
Really depends on how many strips you have access to. If you only have one strip a day, you'll have to be strategic.

If strips are not an issue, try before each meal and then 2 hours after each meal so you can start to see which foods elevate your readings and keep them high vs. the foods that leave you pretty decent 2 hours later.
 
Test as soon as you wake in the morning. Before meals and 2 hrs after to get a good picture of you BS. Also make sure to keep a diary of what you have eaten so you can keep track of what foods your body can tolerate
