Hello,
I’m a reasonably fit 74 year old chap and have had type 2 for around 20 years. Over this last year I have had in increasing pain in my calf muscles when walking, which I am finding difficult to come to terms with. Is this a ‘normal’ progression?
Any suggested remedies, other than analgesics?

Pain from progression of Diabetes is normally blood vessel problems in eyes and nerve pain or numbness particularly feet and hands - ultimately possible blindness and amputation.

Muscle pain could be due to several things. Off the top of my head this includes:
lack of sodium, potassium or magnesium especially if you have recently gone 'low carb'.
It could also be medication such as Statins.

Could be reduced blood supply in the lower legs. Best get medical attention/help to properly diagnose the issue.
